2011 TUSCAN GOLD CRIAS

TUSCAN'S NOEL DI BELLA VITA
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x Nova's Novena di Bella Vita
Medium fawn Huacaya female
DOB:  8/17/11
ARI:  32268836

AVAILABLE AT THE 2012 FUTURITY AUCTION!

Noel is a very pretty, nonfading, medium fawn female out of a medium fawn dam by Snowmass Nova.  Her maternal granddam is by Accoyo Express, himself known to produce champion dark color offspring.  Noel's sire, Tuscan Gold, has also produced multiple champion black cria, so the color genetics in Noel's background are very strong, and she would be a great addition to program breeding for fawn to darker colors.  She has a nicely balanced frame based on stout bone, yet maintains a very feminine look about her.  Her fleece is an extremely bright and also fairly dense with even crimpy character, good organization throughout and with a fine, soft hand.  Noel is very related to Bella Vita's 2011 Futurity auction girl, Grazie, purchased by Snowmass Alpacas.  Grazie's dam is Noel's maternal granddam, and Tuscan sired both Grazie and Noel.  So, last year if you thought about bidding or were actually bidding against Julie Skinner and missed out, here's your chance at getting a very related female with similar genetic code and phenotype.  The bonus of this year's girl is the addition of the Snowmass Nova line.   Don't miss out this time!  Lightening rarely strikes twice!

Fiber Stats:  AFD 17.92, SD 4.44, CV 24.77, CF 99.43%, staple length 70 (5 mo sample with cria tips which will skew SD and CV)

TUSCAN'S MAESTRO DI BELLA VITA
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x Carina di Bella Vita
DOB:  8/22/11
med fawn Huacaya Jr. Herdsire

Very handsome male destined to be a herdsire from his attitude to his conformation and headstyle, to his incredibly bright and organized medium fawn fleece.  It's just assured through his genetic code.  His dam, Carina, is a daughter of Apollo's Nicolette.  Nicolette is one of a small number of females we selected specifically for Tuscan when we wanted to elevate our breeding program when he was ready to begin his breeding career.  She is a Royal Peruvian Apollo daughter bred by  Mary Reed and is also the dam of Tuscan's Primo and Tuscan's Snowbaby.  Primo is a champion white male stunner, retained by us to replace his sire.  Snowbaby was a darling white cria with fabulous fleece and now a foundation female for Snow Diamond Alpacas.  Since Nicolette sold with a breeding, we chose Grandmaster and the product was Maestro's dam, Carina.  She is one of the most beautiful alpacas on our ranch and remains as a foundation female.  Maestro is her first cria and she did not disappoint!  Maestro already shows strong bone and a compact nicely proportioned frame with flat topline and his daddy's signature upright stature and incredible presence.  One can't help but notice him as he just stands out in a crowd.  His fleece shows long staple length, very even character of crimpy organized fleece all over the place, including up his neck, down his legs and under his belly.  Gosh, we'd love to keep him but we can't keep every Tuscan, and it would be a total waste to not have this male breeding more females that we can provide him on our farm.  So, he will be offered for sale as a Junior herdsire.  He begins his show debut in late March 2012.

TUSCAN'S SEMPER FI DI BELLA VITA
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x Sunset Hills Zeph's Zsa Zsamora
DOB:  8/17/11
lt fawn Huacaya Jr. Herdsire
ARI:  Pending

The predictability of Tuscan Gold, especially bred to Zsa Zsa, plays out again in Semper Fi, the 3rd cria from this pairing, and the only male so far.  His 2 older sisters have sold for high dollars during bad economic times, one at the AOBA auction and one off the ranch sight unseen.  That alone says a lot.  Both siblings sold back east during successful show careers to continue those careers and then to eventually become foundation females.  One (Tuscan's Toscana) went to the established program at A. L. Pacas and the other (Tuscan's Zahara) to a growing program for Sheila Schwartz-Zych,   Semper Fi is of the same predictable quality as his older sibs.  He is a handsome male with full face and body coverage of his fine, bright fleece.  That fleece has very good density and a great hand with even, uniform crimp on a long staple length.  Excellent conformation, strong bone, and his daddy's signature presence and style round out the package, and this male will no doubt grow into a herdsire of significance.  His dam is a Zephyrus daughter out of a Caligula daughter and was one of a handful of females selected to join our foundation females specifically for Tuscan when he was ready to start his breeding career.  This makes Semper Fi a full Peruvian 3/4 Accoyo male, same as both parents.  We want to see him go to a program where he will be used regularly as his genetic code is very strong, and we feel he will make a significant mark in the industry.  Semper Fi!  Hoorah!

TUSCAN'S NITRO DI BELLA VITA
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x SA Peruvian Apollo's Nicolette
DOB:  9/3/11
White male Huacaya Jr. Herdsire
ARI:  Pending

Nitro is a full brother to Primo, a male we kept as Tuscan's replacement, despite multiple purchase inquiries, and Snowbaby, a foundation female for Snow Diamond Alpacas.  Nitro is a nice, large male with good bone, correct conformation, and excellent fleece qualities, very similar to Primo.  That fleece has long staples, is very bright with excellent architecture and crip, and good uniformity throughout. His entire body is fully covered with fleece, even down to his toes, and it is packed with density.  He has his dad's signature head and presence.  He is destined to be a herdsire and is a full Peruvian male, 5/8 Accoyo.  Nitro's dam is Nicolette, a female hand picked by us for Tuscan Gold from the Peruvian Classic Auction and bred by Mary Reed.  Nicolette is a Royal Peruvian Apollo daughter, and those fabulous genetics paired with Tuscan have produced 3 outstanding crias so far.  We offer Nitro since we have kept his full brother Primo as a foundation male on our farm.  Nitro will start his show career in March 2012.

Tuscan's Touche` di Bella Vita
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x Chocolat di Bella Vita
Striking medium fawn male out of our black female.  This male is a full brother to Mezzenotte, sold at Futurity auction to Red Granite Ranch, multiple blue ribbon and champion female.  Already his fleece is showing high quality characteristics with bundles, brightness, and density.  Presence, attitude and beautiful head complete the package.  Chocolat has been a great producer for us, and she has done it again.

Tuscan's Cortina di Bella Vita
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x Cocoa Puffe
Cocoa Puffe continues her reputation as premier dam at Bella Vita with this year's  light fawn cria.  Cortina is gorgeous to look at with correct frame and pretty face.  She is well covered with crimpy, bright fleece.  She may be a silky - too early to tell.  We have a hard time telling her apart from Touche without lifting the tail, but are starting to recognize the subtle differences between the two, like the darker nose on Touche.  That's how close they are in their looks.

Tuscan's Chai Tea di Bella Vita
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x Chia Pet di Bella Vita
This beauty is a white female from this pairing.  Very pretty face, like her mom, with bright, bright white fleece organized into bundles with uniform character.  Mom is an "easy keeper", i.e. fat, yet maintains a fine fleece of 20 micron wth narrow spike histogram.  Mom is a little down in the front of her frame, but Tuscan has corrected that on the crias.  Full sister is ChiChi who you can see on our 2010 Tuscan Cria page and Females for Sale page.  We may consign ChiChi to auction if she doesn't sell off the ranch first. We only consign our highest quality to auction as we consider this major advertising for us, so that should tell you the quality we feel these crias possess.

Tuscan's Vanity Fair di Bella Vita
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x SA Accoya Averanda
Another very pretty white female.  She is only a week old at this writing, but she has a really sweet personality so far.  Too early to tell about her fleece but we do see extreme brightness and curly little bundles.  She does have an upright frame, straight legs, is well proportioned, bright and alert.  Stay tuned on this one.

Tuscan's Latin Lover di Bella Vita
Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold x Lovely Lolita
Cute as he can be, this medium fawn male has a beautiful head and curious personality.  His dam is out of the Elite line with good density. She is down in her front stature and a little U-necked, but Tuscan has corrected the frame on his cria, as he is known so well to do.  Upright, bright, level topline and straight legs, Latin Lover has fleece that is bright and crimpy.  He is too young yet to really tell the quality, but he does look very promising. In any case, he will woo you with his charm.
